Availability Manager

Hi,

I have just installed the Availability Manager Collector and Analyzer onto a new system (rx1620). The installation went ok, and the product starts ok, but when I try and run Avail, using $avail/motif/group I get the error message:

%AMDS-F-NOAMDS, DECamds is not installed on the system

Has anyone seen this before?

I am running this on OpenVMS 8.3 and have a MCOE license installed.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the OpenVMS itrc forum!

You appeat to have installed "Availability Manager" and then tried to use "DECamds" commands. They are not quite the same product, and I don't think that DECamds is available for integrity boxes.

Try using AVAIL/AVAIL to get started.

You can see the two sets of command qualifiers on my Alpha 8.3 system, but I do not have access to an integrity system to see whether you have the same help available.

thanks for the reply. You are spot-on. I was using the wrong command. I read the release notes and installation guide, but was reverting back to the old AMDS commands. It's working now ;-)
