â ¦ Indeed v.late on my PROmotion. When I registered in 2003 I was only able to download patches, not participate in the forum (red tape). Permission granted now :-) but have only recently found the time. Sometimes my free time.

Also started late(ish) on VMS (it's never too late I hear your cry!) â ¦ 1985 V3.7 VAX11/780. Installed & managed just about all official released versions up to V7.3-2 (8.2 soon). Hardware wise I've managed lots of VAX series... 4000, 6000, 7000, 8000 and yes we had a 9000 too ! Anyone remember the 8000 PROconsole ? â ¦ we had an operator who ^P and couldn't remember the command to enter the proconsole, so he typed >>> H for Helpâ ¦ didn't know about quickly typing C, but he was called it a few timesâ ¦ Another favorite of mine was when the users were told that the computer had "fallen over" (a bugcheck to us), they came up to the computer room to see, as they actually thought the system had physically fallen over onto it's back.

and now Alpha 2100, 4100, 8400, DS10, DS20, DS25, GS140, GS80, galaxy too. I'm not sad remembering this, I'm happy cos I've been lucky enough to know VMS :-) ...isn't VMS 30 years old this year?

Today I have been looking at an Integrity box costs...so should have these to enjoy too.

Finally, thanks to all who have replied to my v.few posts. I think I'll be picking brains again soon :-)
