System Insight Manager and OVMS

Do we need to enable SSH on OVMS to communicate with HP SIM server. Is SIM server is using SSH for communicating to the OVMS SIM Agent.

hi,

no it is not a requirement, snmp and https are used as a basic, so ports 161/162 (snmp) and 2301/2381 (http+https - auto redirection to https-2381 for any requests to http).

hi,

that's the storage essentials guide - that was not the question, the insight management agents for openvms have been available for a while - since vms v7.3 i think - no ssh in the ip stack then ! those agents have now been updated for later versions of vms and now goes under the banner of system management homepage.

I think some people may be mixing up SSH and SSL. The current implementation of SIM/SMH requires SSL; I don't know of any version that ever needed SSH.

We enabled SSH on OpenVMS the OVMS has been discovered .Now OpenVMS host is communicating to the HP SE server.
