Is there any way to purge the history information for PCSI. For example now that I'm on OpenVMS V7.3-2 I really don't need to see all the patches I installed for V7.3

The output for PRODUCT SHOW HISTORY * can get rather vebose.

Thanks

Cass

Cass,

I don't think there's a way to purge or archive the data, BUT you can limit the output of SHOW HISTORY using qualifiers. See:

$ HELP PRODUCT SHOW HISTORY

For example

$ PRODUCT SHOW HISTORY */SINCE=1-JAN-2005

or

$ PRODUCT SHOW HISTORY */VERSION=7.3-2

or

$ PRODUCT SHOW HISTORY */OPERATION=INSTALL

It looks like it would be useful to have a feature that says "ignore any INSTALL which has also been REMOVEd". If you have a service contract, perhaps log a case to request an enhancement?
Wim,

I tried it because I would also like to have something like this and then be able to decide which patches need to be installed. However with the given example I guess you have to:

either define the symbol d somewhere
OR replace the d "..." with write sys$output.

Other than that, nice :-)

Regards,

Dave

Oeps. That's part of my environment.
d := write sys$output

Better would be to consolidate everything, including things installed with vmsinstal.

And eliminate kits that are overruled.

A bit in the style of John's ex-patch-website ...

Wim
