    <description>ok I got it !&lt;BR /&gt;It doesnt map the actual device with virtual device so I just had to look for the DNFS device created for files:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;%TCPIP$DNFSDISMOUNT-S-DISMOUNTED, _DNFS1009:[000000] dismounted&lt;BR /&gt;TCPIP&amp;gt; MOUNT  $1$DGA1009:[ORACLE9I.TEST] /HOST="dotstodb203"/path="/test" /structure=5 &lt;BR /&gt;%TCPIP$DNFSMOUNT-S-MOUNTED, /test mounted on _DNFS1009:[ORACLE9I.TEST]&lt;BR /&gt;TCPIP&amp;gt; exit&lt;BR /&gt;BUGGS$ dir DNFS1009:[ORACLE9I.TEST]&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Directory DNFS1009:[ORACLE9I.TEST]&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;DISC_20081201_0229.050;1                &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>You're missing the difference between the $1$DGA1009: device device and the DNFS1009: disk device, most likely.</description>

      <description>but the mount command created the DNFS1009 device it self . if you see i am giving the device name as  $1$DGA1009 in mount command.&lt;BR /&gt;so what do i have to do ?</description>
