Have installed a new OS on a DL585. The iLO is still coming up with the old server name.

It was possible to change this with the old RIB by going in the server BIOS.

Is this possible with the iLO and how can it be changed, XML etc.

Thanks

The Server Name setting is provided by the HP Insight agents running on the host OS. If the agents are not installed, then the server name is never updated.

The recommended solution is to install the agents. Alternatively, you could reset iLO configuration to defaults. At least this will clear the old server name.

Hello,

After many trys i got the correct minimum bundles that I installed in order to reread the hostname of the server to the ILO Hostname. You must install in this order:
-hpacucli-7.30-9.linux.rpm
-hpasm-7.3.0-58.rhel3.i386.rpm
-hprsm-7.3.0-58.rhel3.i386.rpm
Then start the deamon activation
#/sbin/hpasm activate
Answer the questions and restart the service
#/sbin/service hpasm restart
Then reboot once the server!

Now your ILO get the hostname correctly.

Cheers.
