I have a server at a remote site that the OS puked, so I can't use Terminal Service to connect the server. The ILO's password was was the default factory password which I don't know.

I dl cpqlocfg and xml files to reset or add another user to the ILO, but they all require the original Administrator password. Any idea? Can you provide the command line format if possible? Thanks.

To access the iLO, we need to have atleast one of the following ...
1. Access to iLO (username and password).
2. Root access to the Host OS.
3. Physical access to the machine.
4. iLO security disabled.

Without having any of the above, you will not be able to access the management processor. This will be required for security reasons.

For Me:
Shut down the server.
Opened the server case and looked for the ilO security switch and disable it. Turn on the server and press F8 for iLO configuration. Set a new password, turn off the server, reset the security switch, and turned the server back on. Now the password is what I set it to and not the unknown password. Hope I did not miss a step
