topic ENABLE iLO in Server Management - Remote Server Management

Hello,

When I configure a server, I disable the iLO 'cause I don't use it. when the server is starting, I press F8 to enter in the ROM BASE UP of iLO and I disable iLO (in the item CONFIGURE).

So, I'd like to enable the iLO on a server where iLO is disabled. Like, on the start of the server, F8 is not available (to configure iLO), I can't enable iLO.

How to do, please. (Sorry for my bad english)

There are a couple means to do enable the iLO processor if it has been disabled.

1) power-off the server
2) open the chassis and set the iLO security override switch
3) power on, enter iLO RBSU, enable iLO, save and exit
4) power off the server, then restore the iLO security override switch

alternatively:

(*) get downloads here:
www.hp.com/servers/lights-out
click on an iLO
click on Software and Drivers then pick your host OS

1) install the iLO driver
2) download the Lights-Out Online Configuration Utiliy and extract
3) download the XML scripting samples and extract
4) use the HPONCFG utility (2) to apply the script mod_global_settings.xml (3) which contains the line <ILO_FUNCT_ENABLED value="Yes"></ILO_FUNCT_ENABLED>
