      <title>Config iLO in DL380 g4</title>

      <description>Im familiar with HP kit but not iLO our DL380s have the basicILO chip in them but i dont know how to set it up.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;its active in the bios ive updated the driver and firmware but i cant connect to it by a browser.&lt;BR /&gt;when i try to connect by a command prompt it just gives errors&lt;BR /&gt;i only wish to use iLO to force a shutdown and power-on at the moment any ideas ..i think im missing a software agent but i dont know which one.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;its set for dhcp at the moment. ive read the pdfs without a lot of sense...!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;an idiots step by step would be really appreaciated.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;kind regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Paul Killington &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Check if you can ping the iLO IP address from client&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To connect to iLO you can either use &lt;BR /&gt;1. Web browser&lt;BR /&gt;   Type in "https://&lt;ILO-IPADDRESS&gt; in the list of browsers that Sandeep has suggested&lt;BR /&gt;2. ssh session (port 22)&lt;BR /&gt;   ssh &lt;ILO-IPADDRESS&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Let us know what error you get.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/ILO-IPADDRESS&gt;&lt;/ILO-IPADDRESS&gt;</description>

      <description>hi guys&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i looked at DHCP and 1 iLO was receiving an address.&lt;BR /&gt;but i couldnt ping it or connect via browser just got page could not be displayed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So ive created annother reservation range in DHCP and will manually assign it an address from that set and get back to you.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sorry about the Atlantic its a time zone thing !&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have 3 such servers that are iLO compatable.&lt;BR /&gt;To clarify do i need a network cable from the iLO port in to my switch (i am under the impression the iLO port is only for configuration purposes)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and what sort of functionality will i get out of the basic iLO package as opposed to the advanced which i do not have a licence for.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Kind Regards &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Paul K&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>You can access Ilo once you connect a cable b/w the Ilo port and switch.&lt;BR /&gt;Ilo port is just a connector.&lt;BR /&gt;Attachment for information about Ilo Basic and Advanced.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SRH&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>dear all &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Many thanks for your imput.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can now ping and log on to my iLO via a browser!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We dont have any server based proxy devices so thats cool.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Couple of points.&lt;BR /&gt;1 ive now started to get DNS errors as this server is also our primary DNS server.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I really also only need iLO for making a system shutdown or restart in the event of a hung server which of the power options will attempt a "Gracefull" or "Clean" shutdown.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks for all your help&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Paul  &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi, all&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My first bet is that you don't have the iLO Advanced Pack (activation key). Without this key you can only have limited functions and no Web Based Interface, you can only use CLI.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should check if it is licensed since you've already checked all of the above recomendations.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards.</description>

      <description>Without licensing iLO Advanced, you still have the ability to access iLO via browser or command-line and to initiate graceful OS shutdowns.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You will not have the ability for graphical remote console or virtual media as well as some other features that are listed.</description>
