iLO remote console graphical mode fail

Hi all,

I am havaing bunch of dl360 and dl380 with advanced light out lincese activiated and i can almost control most of the features currecntly but not the remote console bit. When i click on othat it just apprear as gray screen with RC4 secured 128bits at the bottom of the screen. If i move my mouse around on that grey screen it actually control the screen of the server.

I have jre 1.4.2_13 loaded and also tried jre 1.5 and no luck.

Any suggestion will be appreacite! :) Thanks

Hi all,

For more details, I am using window server 2003 r2 standard edition.

iLO firmware version: 1.87
Static IP on the iLO
IE version 6.03
Got all the security update done.

furthermore the iLO Remote Console feature does not currently support Java (TM) 2 Runtime Environment Version 1.4.0 or Version 1.4.0_01. Install the currently supported Java (TM) 2 Runtime Environment version by performing the following steps:

1. Uninstall Java (TM) 2 Runtime Environment Version 1.4.x using Microsoft Windows Add/Remove Programs.
2. Install the currently supported Java (TM) 2 Runtime Environment version which is available for download at the following URL:

Thanks for the reply. I am currenctly installed two different version of JRE(1.5.0_06-b05 and also 1.4.2_23-b06) of different machine and try but i am not able to display the console still.

try the compaq site, it is broken.

Try to uninstall JRE 1.5 and loaded with the 1.4.2 JRE version you have gave me just now, the problem still remain.

I am using JRE 1.5.0_06-b05 and have no trouble with the iLO Remote Console.
Perhaps it is some setting on your workstation, or in the Java Control Panel itself.

All,

I guess I didn't update what is happening here after a while. I finally found out what went wrong with the software. Which is nothing wrong with it. I actually installed a quad video card on the server and I strongly believe it got to do with it. I guess HP should provide a details where by quad card may not work with iLO grahpica mode. Because i tested on the other server without the quad card, it work fine. I guess I entirely miss it and though it have nothing to do with it..

iLO remote console is only supported with the integrated video adapter.

You can add adapters, but iLO cannot virtualize them. However, iLO does enable terminal services passthrough for Windows, which launches automatically from remote console if configured and enabled to.
