topic Virtual Media in Server Management - Remote Server Management

Hi, we are currently testing ILO on a DL380 G4(firmware 1.89) and I have just activated the trial licences for the Advanced Features Pack. The Remote Console is working with no problems but when trying to run Virtual Media another browser window opens and a small red X appears in the top left hand corner. I'm running IE6 SP2 and the lastest version of Java.
Can anyone tell me why Virtual Media isn't working?

Thanks

Hi thanks for the info.
I've been trying to diagnose what's causing the problem. I began thinking that it was the version of Java as I installed version 1.4.2_12 on the server to test and that worked so i removed the lastest version (1.6.0) from my client PC and installed the above 1.4.2_12 version but it still didn't work. But running it on the server (via Remote Desktop) does.

Is this a network issue? I can run the remote console from a client PC, but I can run the Virtual Media from ONLY the server.

Any help will be very appreciated!
Thanks

Do you have the network port for virtual media opened? Default 17988 (Network settings).

This must be opened between the client and the iLO system; firewalls and routers in between can interfere.
