Hi Guys,

I have few Red Hat Linux server which need iLO port configuration. Is there anyone who can guide me how to configure iLO?

As far I know you have to reboot the server and Press F8 to go to configuration menu.

What are the steps involved in this method ?

Is there anyway without rebooting the server ? If yes then what are the steps ?

Thank you very much.
FA

Consider installing the iLO Red Hat support
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/lights-out/us/index.html
Particularly
the management interface driver
the online configuration utility
the XML scripting samples

You can use the online configuration utility to get/set iLO options using RIBCL/XML scripts from within the host OS. This means you do not need to reset the server.

Hi,
for complete the answer: if you connect you cable (specific HP cable usually for blade rack) on ilo interface you can configure directly your ILO (this is an emergency case) you don't reboot you system, attention default address is 192.168.1.1 , you connect directly with a notebook setting a correct network.

Bye bye Andrea.
