Open the hood of the server. Check for the System Maintance Switch. There is a button iLo Security Override.
Switch it ON. Then the iLO doesn't ask for the username and password.

You can login to the ilo and change the password.

Hi, I am having 2 Dl 380 G5 servers and I have configured the ILO with the IP addresses. By mistake I have turned on the password and I am not been able to log on to ILO as it is asking me username & password.

I want to reset the ILO settings to default, so that I can log in using F8, and configure it again.
Could anyone help me in this.

Tou have a few options:
1) use the iLO security override switch. This will allow access to RBSU, and there you can set the password as desired.
Note: you cannot extract the current password.

2) you can reset iLO to defaults, and the password will be set according to the hood label.

3) use the online host-based scripting utility, HPONCFG, and a "set password" script from within the OS on the host to set the desired password or to create a user account with known credentials.
