Hello -

I'm running first generation RILOE card (as opposed to the RILOE II or iLO card) that has burped out the following error in the System Event Log of my Windows 2000 server:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Server Agents
Event Category: Events
Event ID: 1110
Date: 4/7/2004
Time: 1:45:25 PM
User: N/A

Description:
Remote Insight Agent: The Remote Insight Board has detected self test error '256'.
[SNMP TRAP: 9005 in CPQSM2.MIB]

I'm not finding any information regarding this error, and I was wondering if anyone here has encountered this error and determined what fixes it. I've recently upgraded the firmware of the card to 2.51, but I'm not certain this is the root of the problem.

Thank you in advance for your time!

A self-test error almost always refers to a hardware problem. Has this recently been moved between systems?

In chapter 7, "Troubleshooting the Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition," in the user guide at ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/management/159206-005bm.pdf is this information:

"Remote Insight Self-Test Error: #

The Remote Insight board has failed an internal test. The probable cause is a critical component has failed. Further use of this board is not recommended."
