> Subject: ILO serial over lan (SOL) timeout

Hi -

I keep active serial console sessions on all the hardware I work with by using ipmitool:

> ipmitool -U $userid -P $passwd -H $ipaddrofILO -I lanplus sol activate

Something I've been meaning to follow up on is that ILO seems to timeout this session after about 1 week, and what I receive in the logs is:

> SOL session closed by BMC

Is there a setting somewhere to either set the value to a "very long time" or disable it?

Ideas?

>

Hi,

There is no setting in the iLO GUI for setting any timeout value for inactive session for IPMI. We suspect that there might be a possibility that the iLO session might have got reset because of which the session would have got closed. Also the IPMI spec too doesnt mention about any timeout values associated with an idle session.

Thanks,
Bonny.
I am an HPE Employee. Don't forget to give Kudos if the problem got resolved or like suggestion.
