Factory reset iLO 4 without disruption of server

I was recently tasked with putting the iLO interfaces of several servers we have on our management network for remote management. These server installations predate my tenure, and at some point, they were assigned IPs and hostnames which appear to be configured in iLO 4 on those ProLiant boxes. I only know this because they show up in DNS and their IPs are pingable, however, when I pull the hostname or IP up in a browser to access the iLO GUI, it tries to connect but never does (connection times out), and does not show an error. I cannot SSH to them either.

We repurposed these servers and recently installed ESXi 6.5 on them, and would now like to be able to manage these servers remotely, and not by KVM but instead with iLO. Is there a way to factory reset the iLO without disrupting the server, or is there some other way to get in to see what's going on and correct it?

Using the 'hponcfg' utility at the host level for Windows and Linux OS, you can check status, and send XML scripts to the iLO for configuration. It appears the utiltiy is included in the custom ESXi image for ProLiant https://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/vibsdepot/
