Set-HPEiLODirectorySettings - Port Configuration issue

Hi all,

we are using a script based on the iLO POSH cmdlets 2.2.0.0 to configure our iLO. We set the Directory Server settings with Set-HPEiLODirectorySettings with the following parameters:

-DirectoryServerAddress "ServerAdress" -DirectoryServerPort "3269"

This sets the DirectoryServerAddress to this string ServerAdress:3269, the port is set correctly.
But this setting makes the AD authentication not working! Unfortunately the Get-HPEiLODirectorySetting shows the setting is configured properly but it isn`t.

As a workaround we set only the ServerAddress without a Port configuration but that leads to manual effort that we dont want to have.

Has anyone similar experiences? Is there a solution available?

Hi Tom,,

If the iLO Firmware version is less than 1.40., the directory cmdlets are not suppported on iLO5 its supported from iLO FW 1.40 onwards as the Redfish support for these features are available from 1.40 onwards

Make sure you have latest version of ILO.

If the issue is still seen please log a ticket.

the errors occurs with every version, up to 2.12.

I could never figure it out with HPe CMDLETs 2.2.x.x, so I figured out that HPe CMDLETS 1.5.x.x and I can confirm it works.

On the plus side, these cmdlet works for Gen 7 vs CMDLETs 2.2.x.x only working for Gen 8+

The following command is what you need.

Set-HPiLOSchemalessDirectory

Set-HPiLODirectory

Checked versions: 3.1.0.0 and 3.1.0.1

FYI - latest iLO5 firmware 2.55 is affected by this.

I have found a workaround for this:

Initially run Set-HPEiLODirectorySettings will all configuration parameters set as needed, but set parameter 'GenericLDAPEnabled' to "No".

Then you can run:

Set-HPEiLODirectorySettings -DirectoryServerAddress "Server.fqdn"

Which should overwrite the erroneous value without appending the port number again.

Then enable LDAP authentication with:

Set-HPEiLODirectorySettings -GenericLDAPEnabled "Yes"
