You can add the files into the hp/packages directory

or

prepare an USB key drive (first link) and use it with ILOs virtual media.

Hi,

I have a BL465c G7 with iLO3. The ROM BIOS is A19 12/20/2010 and wish to upgrade the latest version which is 03/14/2018. Note this is the mothboard bios, not the iLO firmware.

Can I update this via the ILO3? There is seems no mention of this (unlike ILO4 which it does and works ok).

Thanks.

Hi,

This is not possible. Download the latest supported SPP for G7 servers here:

https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/spp/index.aspx?version=G7.1

Just mount the .ISO file from your iLO virtual console or virtual CD-ROM and you can either install all available updates or just the ones you need (like BIOS).

The SPP is both supported as bootable media, or can be launched from within your OS.

Bart

Thanks for links, I have the BIOS update file, just unable to execute it. The server is on the other side of the world, so I only have iLO access.

How do I add the file to the SPP? When I load up the SPP I cannot see anywhere to add it in?

Thanks.
