I believe you are asking about the login credentials when you try to connect to http://<SERVER-IP-ADDRESS>:2381

there are two login methods used, host operating system authentication in which your operating system login and password is used (incase of windows it is administrator, for linux it is root account password), this is the default authentication method used. This is the method RDP also uses.

otherwise whatever user id and password given during installation is used.

Hope this helps,
Gopi</SERVER-IP-ADDRESS>

Yeh, it's when you log into the Systems Management web site via the URL you mentioned.

It's the password in the CPQHMMD.ACL file that is related to the HP Insight Web Agent.

When you deploy the Agents silently, you don't get asked to enter a password, so I'm just trying to find out what the default is.

Cheers,
Jeremy.

which OS you are trying to deploy ? in case of linux you should be able to see what are the default parameters used by checking the rdpinstall.dat file

this file is located in 'ProLiant Support Pack for the OS' directory in lib/software folder

Hope this helps,
Gopi

I'll try that tomorrow.

It's deployed on Windows 2003 SP1.

Interestingly enough that SmartStart 7.3 CD uses the following syntax to deploy the Agents...

setupex.exe /smartstart:C:\ntcsp\mgmtpwd.txt

...with the contents of the mgmtpwd.txt file being...

ElmAdminPassword=ZG9nZWFy
ElmUserPassword=ZG9nZWFy
ElmOperatorPassword=ZG9nZWFy

Therefore, you would think that the Administrator password would be ZG9nZWFy.

It's all just too confusing with this not being documented anywhere. But thank you for the information.

Cheers,
Jeremy.
I believe what you are seeing is encrypted password. So do not assume the password is same what you see.

Try using administrator account password or simply 'password'

Hope this helps,
Gopi

Legacy agents use to use the user "administrator" and the password "administrator". Then during a time if you donâ t configure the agents you would have to copy the password file or redeploy. Now the agents allow anyone in the administrator group to connect by default. [Iâ m only referring to Windows agents]

To configure the agents run the SETUP program and select configure components. Then after you configure use your normal deployment process.
