Hi

Make sure you got WINS konfigured into your dhcp-scope otherwise put it in protocol.ini

Under:

[TCPIP]

WINS_SERVER0 = xxx xxx xxx xxx
WINS_SERVER1 = xxx xxx xxx xxx

do not use . between the numbers xxx, use space " "

This solved my problem with error 53 when using net use command.

Regards
Johan

Unable to deploy OS onto a Blade BL20P G2 using the ILO. Boot floppy errors out with: Error 53 "The computer name specified in the network path cannot be located"
NIC (gigabit) drivers appear to have loaded correctly as the net logon statement comes back with a command completed successfully,
but I'm unable to ping the address from another box, which tells me its not on the network.
Tried it on two seperate blades now.

I found Compaqs customer advisory#CO020906_CW01
Its a catch 22. It says to remove the EMM386 from Config.sys to correct the error 53
but if you do that you receive an error 8: not enough memory available.
I updated the Q57.dos driver to a newer version, and it failed with error 53 regardless of whether EMM386 was included or not.
Any Ideas here?

This problem has been solved. The problem was
a incorrect IP for the subnet the Blade is on. I was assured the IP address was correct and it did line up with one of the other Blades in the same enclosure.
DHCP server still happened to exist in the Server room and I was able to pull down an address. Will figure the IP mess later.
