Hi,

I am trying to install RDP 3.80 onto a new server. It says the installation is complete however when i try to connect the application cannot open the database!

I can't see any instance of SQL on the server and when it went to install the SQL part it just quickly opened a command box that then disappeared and started on the Rapid Deployment install.

Am I missing something that should have been done before installation?

OK, it seems the ISO was corrupt so now i have downloaded and got a working ISO (comfirmed checksum).

I have installed using pretty much the default but the Deployment server cannot connect to the Database. The ODBC connection returns as successful but it seems like i can't see the eXpress database. I have gone into the SQL install and an eXpress.mdf file exists.

Can someone help me??

Well I did manage to get around this, it seems it is not doing the SQL part of the install correctly. Chekc the permissions to the SQL database, i had to add BUILTIN\administrators as dbowners and then it worked ok

Thanks for the tip. It had created the database files but hadn't actually mounted the database. I had to manually attach the express.mdf and log and then assign permissions as you mentioned and then the install was able to run successfully.
