How to find CMU patches and CMU upgrades

UPDATE: To find the CMU patch repository:

1. Go to www.hp.com/go/hpsc

2. Click 'sign-in' in the upper right-hand corner and log in.

3. Under "Download Options" in the left-hand column of the web-page,"Patch Management" will now appear. Click on that link.

4. Click on 'Find patches for a product' (middle of the page); then click on 'Cluster Management Utility'. You may need to migrate your ITRC account and/or provide your SAID number in order to access the Patch Database. You can migrate your ITRC account here: https://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/aae/itrc/migrate/

This repository will contain patches for each CMU RPM, as well as the latest CMU RPM for upgrades. Remember that each CMU patch only applies to a specific CMU RPM version.

Here is a quick 'how-to' on upgrading CMU:

1. make a backup: run 'cp -r /opt/cmu /opt/cmu-old' or a similar command.

2. remove CMU: run 'rpm -e cmu'. This will create an archive of the current CMU configuration and print out a 'restoreConfig' command. This command will be run in step 4.

3. Install the new CMU: run 'rpm -ivh '.

4. restore your configuration by running the 'restoreConfig' command from Step 2.

5. Newer versions of CMU are installed in "audit" mode as part of the HA support. Run '/etc/init.d/cmu unset_audit' to put CMU back in "run-ready" state.

6. Run '/etc/init.d/cmu start' to start CMU.

Note that 'rpm -U cmu' does not work correctly and is not recommended.

The only options under "Download options" are "Drivers, Software & Firmware". All previous methods I used to use to get HP patches are now being denied even though I have an account and have been getting patches from itrc for years.

You need valid SAID (HP Support Agreement ID) for downloading patch from ITRC. Earlier if you have this entitlement then you need to migrate your old ITRC account.
