O.K. Now that I have look4ed at the documentation closer, I am really confused as to why ISEE will NOT work on the AMD64 systems. The link below indicataes that it should work on page 2 where it says "Microsoft Windows Server for 64-bit server editions" under Proliant Servers listing DL servers.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/services/hardware/info/isee_client.pdf

This statement would seem to indicate that a DL385 running Windows 2003 64-bit OS should be supported.

Which is it. If it is supported then where is the proper client for the DL385? I still cannot believe that HP would not support the AMD chip since they sell so many of them.

Phil

We are trying to install ISEE on a system under Windows 2003 R2 on an AMD Opteron chip. We keep getting a message indicating that WEBES is not supported by this processor type.

Is WEBES really NOT supported on the AMD Opteron? If it isn't what do we use in it's place so we can run ISEE? How can we setup ISEE if we don't have WEBES?

Thanks,
Phil

Are you running 64-bit version of 2003? If that's your case have a look there:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1032728

Rgds

That is exactly what our problem is. We are running the 64 bit version of windows. The suggestion was to run a model 3 clientless installation. What is a model 3 clientless installation and how do I set that up?

Phil

ISEE doesn't support AMD 64-bit platforms. In this case, one has to be follow the model 3 type of configuration of ISEE

Refer these links for the details.
http://h20219.www2.hp.com/services/cache/10711-0-0-225-121.aspx
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/services/hardware/info/isee_client.pdf

How does the WEBES for EVA monitoring work in a model 3 ISEE configuration? Doesn't WEBES still have to run on the 64-bit system where it is not supported or installable?

Phil

If you take a look at the first link in my last post, you will see a pdf of ISEE supported hardware where it is mentioned clearly.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/services/hardware/info/isee_supported_hardware.pdf

Secondly, the latest WEBES version doesn't support AMD Opetron. Hence you see the message. It is mentioned at

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/svctools/webes/45webes_rn.pdf

I would expect the support for AMD processors in near future from HP.

Now for EVA monitoring, you might want to have ISEE/WEBES installed on supported hardware platform only.
