Dear all,

Does anyone know if the RCM collection entry as shown in the ISEE configuration Explorer (e.g HPUX RCM) has changed to Additional Filesystem, Additional software etc?
Because I used to check RCM collections for some customers but now I cannot see this entry any more. However eSMG works properly for these customers.

Regards

Hi,

I could be wrong, but I don't think RCM Collections are sent to CEUI, but sent to eSMG.

CEUI contains the standard ISEE Collections (Scheduler) plus Runner collections (if configured).

How does RCM work?
Revision and Configuration Management (RCM) provides revision and configuration
reporting for HP systems running HP-UX Versions 11.00 to 11.23. RCM uses the
following HP components to perform the data collection on an HP-UX system:
§ RCM Data Collector for HP-UX (MCPS-RCM) - This component controls the
data collection and transport of RCM data to HP Services. When data is gathered
from the customer's system, an MCPS-RCM script called rcmcollect sends that
data to HP Services using e-mail or FTP, where it is stored in the RCM Server.
MCPS-RCM is a high-level component that is distributed with two other supporting
components, as follows:
à MCPS-COLLECT - This element coordinates the data collection by
gathering and formatting generated information.
à MCPS-COMMON â This element is used to store information common to
all HP Mission Critical and Proactive Services (MCPS) tools.
Note: Users do not interact with either of these supporting
subcomponents.
The system configuration snapshot (collected data) is automatically transported to HP
Services using e-mail or FTP. The data is then loaded onto the RCM Server.
The RCM Server hosts a web-based user interface that enables authorized personnel in
HP Services to view detailed configuration and change reports. Customers with
qualified service contracts are able to view these configuration and change reports
through the Electronic Site Management Guide (eSMG).

What can we do if neither e-mail or FTP is allowed from the customer?

In the past some customers were set up with the no automatic transport option and rcm collections + eSMG is still working properly.

Can we do the same now?

Regards
