firewall ports - irs std hp-ux

not having much luck getting irs working. I have 443 and 50004 ports open. Doing a trace shows snmp port 161. But by default snmp is not turned on for the HPux box.

Also, is there a guide that will help with hpux <-> hosting dev setup?

Hi Ed,
Using the following ports you should be able to access the SMH from the HP-UX system. The HP-UX system is able to send service incidents. Configuration collections, etc. could be done, if necessary.
- ICMP (ping) CMS -> MS discover, UDN
- HTTP port 2301 CMS -> MS start/enter SMH when it is in standby mode
- HTTPS port 2381 CMS -> MS enter the SMH
- WBEM port 5989 CMS -> MS default WBEM CIMOM port
- WBEM 50004 MS -> CMS SIM access, collections, etc.
- HTTPS 7906 MS -> CMS service incident to WEBES

The "Identify Systems..." in SIM makes also the subscription in the HP-UX system, that it knows with which CMS and tools it has to communicate with.

I'm unclear about the following ports. Remote Insight Support will use the following or would I use a browser on the hosting device to hit these ports?

- HTTP port 2301 CMS -> MS start/enter SMH when it is in standby mode
- HTTPS port 2381 CMS -> MS enter the SMH

by the way:
CMS = Central Management Server
MS = ?
SMH = System Management homepage
