Hi all ,
We are monitoring several HP-UX servers with HP SIM 5.3.1.
All servers are monitored correctly , except with two hp-ux servers 11.31 , that are behind NAT.
We can discover those two servers without problems , but we do not receive any traps from them.
Syslog file contains this msg any time we try to send test trap :

Apr 9 14:12:01 huxbep01 cimserver[1738]: PGS10405: Failed to deliver an indication: PGS08001: CIM HTTP or HTTPS connector cannot connect to wisim.ic.intra.infocamere.it:7906. Connection failed.

wisim.ic.intra.infocamere.it is our sim server but , behind NAT is reachable as wisimpd.intra.infocamere.it.
We tried to modify name resolution on file /etc/hosts but we noticed that this file or dns is not used when trap is sent, instead it seems that external wbem subscription is been used for that.
Here is the output of command :" evweb subscribe -b external -L"

Filter Name Handler Name Query Destinat Destination Url
================================================================= ================================================================== ========================================================================================= ======== ==============================
EMS_INTERNAL_170590209 EMS_INTERNAL_170590209 SELECT * FROM HP_DeviceIndication WHERE ProviderName = "CMC_IndicationProviderIA" UNKNOWN
EMS_INTERNAL_170590212 EMS_INTERNAL_170590212 SELECT * FROM HP_DeviceIndication WHERE ProviderName = "CPE_IndicationProviderIA" UNKNOWN
EMS_INTERNAL_170590215 EMS_INTERNAL_170590215 SELECT * FROM HP_DeviceIndication WHERE ProviderName = "FPL_IndicationProvider" UNKNOWN
EMS_INTERNAL_170590218 EMS_INTERNAL_170590218 SELECT * FROM HP_DeviceIndication WHERE ProviderName = "CoreHardwareIndicationProviderIA" UNKNOWN
EMS_INTERNAL_170590221 EMS_INTERNAL_170590221 SELECT * FROM HP_DeviceIndication WHERE ProviderName = "MemoryIndicationProviderIA" UNKNOWN
HPWEBES_wisim.ic.intra.infocamere.it_43_Filter_HP_AlertIndication HPWEBES_wisim.ic.intra.infocamere.it_43_Handler_HP_AlertIndication select * from HP_AlertIndication UNKNOWN
HPSIM_wisimpd_0 HPSIM_wisimpd select * from HP_DeviceIndication UNKNOWN
HPSIM_wisimpd_1 HPSIM_wisimpd select * from HP_ThresholdIndication UNKNOWN

Thanks,
Maurizio

I would try to open 5989. This port is used to communicate wbem indications from HP-UX to the HP SIM server running webes on 7906. see the technical paper.

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02061500/c02061500.pdf

Port 5989 is already open.
The problem is on HPWEBES external destination that point to hostname
"wisim.ic.intra.infocamere.it" instead of
"wisimpd.ic.intra.infocamere.it".

Thanks,Maurizio
