The password is in the file /opt/hpservices/etc/motprefs. As root, you can delete the Password after the Keyword "AGENT_PASSWD". Make a backup copy of the old motprefs before you modify it ;-)

Anyone out there using ISEE yet? If not I would recommend installing and testing it. It will replace Predictive Support by June of next year.

My question is..

What happens if you forget your login Motive password?

Well, I deleted the password, and it won't let me in with no password, either. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I just tried again, and it worked. I did not include the information that ISEE has to be restarted.

1.) /sbin/init.d/hpservices stop
2.) vi /opt/hpservices/etc/motprefs
-remove the xxxxxxxx after AGENT_PASSWD
-check for the username "AGENT_USER"
3.) /sbin/init.d/hpservices start
4.) go to the UI, login as the user, specified by "AGENT_USER", leave the passwd field empty.

best regards

Stefan
