Remote Support STD - WEBES Installation failed

Hello,

i have to install HP Remote Support Standard
( rs_std0911 incl. Webes 5.6 ) on a HP ProLiant DL380 G4.
The Installation failed by installing Web Based Enterprise Service (WEBES ) v.5.6. In the Webes Install Log i get the following Information:
"PostgreSQL 8.3 Installation Error Code: 1"
"PostgreSQL 8.3 Installation was NOT Successful. Please refer to C:\Programme\HP\Installers\WEBES\WebesPostgreSQL.htm file for Installation of PostgreSQL."
PSQLCMD PATH Query=C:\WINDOWS\system32\reg.exe QUERY "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PostgreSQL\Installations\postgresql-8.3" /v "Base Directory"
"PSQLCMD PATH VALUE =C:\Programme/PostgreSQL/8.3\bin\psql"
"Now running CreateWEBESDBs.bat for creating the WEBES databases..."
"The destadb database is not created"

Desta service is installed, but not running.

Cancel and Reinstall HP RSP STD will not resolve this problem ( hangs at the same point ).

Manual Installing postgresql.exe with required parameters don't work.

Is there anybody, who can help me ?
What is to do ?

Hi Andy,

If PostgreSQL is installed, create the databases according to the description in C:\Program Files\HP\Installers\WEBES\PostgreSQL.htm. Propably you've to reenter the WEBES password in the properties of the service postgresql-8.3.

Hi Werner,

the PostgreSQL Server is not installed.
So I can't create any databases.

The service account ( postgres ) is screated.

Any other ideas ?

Did you check if you have WEBES prerequisites, like .net 2.0 and JAVA for example?

.net 2.0 and java is installed.
In the installation logfile from postgreSQL was written:

Hi Guys,

the problem with postgresql installation isn't anymore. I configured the rights to the installationpath c:\progamme\postgresql
(local user postgres > fullaccess ), all is fine.
After installation of postgresql i get the folling error:
Registration Problem: Error running command to register wsc files and set up scheduled tasks. Pleas verify that the SWM scheduled tasks have been created and that the SMW GUI can be opened. See the troubleshooting guides for more information.
By opening the webside https://127.9.0.1:7960/installwizard/index.html i get the folling error message: Unable to load /ajax/rscSettings?dojo.preventCache=1254912864355 status:500.

The postgresql service is running, the desta service stops after a few minutes, i restart the service but the desta service stops again after a few minutes.

Any Ideas ?
Where can i get the troubleshooting guides for Remote Support Standard ?

Hi Andy, The WEBES Databases will not be created.
Run the CreateWEBESDBs.bat file passing the psql.exe Path as parameter.
After this action, start the DESTA_Service.

Hello Shiva,

i have change my installation to HP SIM 5.3 SP1 including HP Remote Support.
So i don't have any trouble.

All services works fine.

Something seems unusual: after a few days of duration i get a email from HPInsightRemoteSupport@hp.com with the message: HP Remote Support Software Management Agent Lost Connectivity Alert.
All services are running, no errors or warnings in the eventlog.

I hope that is no general problem. In this case i will open a new thread.
