Is IRS 5.7 and above supported on Hyper V 2012 virtual server and /or the Hyper V 2012 host ?

Hello Keziah,

HP Insight RS releases V7.0.5 or A.05.80 itself is not supported on any version of HyperV, either as a Virtual server or as a host system.

HP Insight RS releases V7.0.5 or A.05.80 are supported on VMware ESX (4.0 & 4.1 including update versions) and VMware ESXi (4.0, 4.1 and 5.0 including update versions), provided that these Guests are running Windows Server 2008.

You can monitor a Proliant Server running Hyper V 2008 R2 (limited to full versions, not the core versions). Core version does not permit the required Service Packs for Proliants to be installed.

Is there any reason why HP still forcibly denies the ability to run RS on Hyper-V?

The licensing model is archaic and useless.
