I need a manual for the requeriments for the installation of ISEE in Linux Red Hat Enterprise ES 3
i have the isee_client pdf but this dont have too many information
please help me with the manual

Is there anything special you would need to know?. I am afraid this is the only document available:

Appendix B is Installing ISEE on Linux Clients.

One thing to remember is:

The Installation instruction incorrectly imply/state OSEM may be installed on the Linux OS.

OSEM can only be installed on a Windows system. Linux clients do have Insight Management Agents allowing the Linux clients to be used in either a model 2 scenario, where ISEE is installed on the Linux systems, or model 3 scenario, where ISEE is not installed on the Linux systems.

Please see "Understanding the ISEE Solution Models" starting on page 14.

I install ISEE with all its requeriments but i dont know wherei can configurate this.
i use mozilla in http:\\localhost:6050\start.html and i can configurate but i need to know if this is posible in text mode

how i can probe that this is correcto and that i can send and recieve information

I have installed ISEE Linux Red Hat Enterprise ES 3 in some clients, I agree with you about the ISEE manual "i have the isee_client pdf but this dont have too many information", due tot that I made a new complete guide. I hope it is useful for you. By the way, the guide is in Spanish but the commands are the same in English.

Hi all,

I saw already the isee_client.pdf . My question is how to config snmpd.conf? Do you have sample file... I also saw isee configuration Lab guide, but the guide's sample which is snmpd.conf that different with RHEL 3's snmpd.conf.. So, I tried to configure but still didn't work to associate OSEM. Please, help me!!!!

hello guys,

these are the settings you ideally need to get correct in snmpd.conf file.

Add this line :
rocommunity public

file should look like this now:

rwcommunity private 127.0.0.1
rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
rocommunity public

trapcommunity public
trapsink
public

set your client in public community in osem to make it simple.

let me know if this works in your case.
