Hello,

Temporary, we have installed ISEE OSEM and Insight Agent on a server A.

We have installed HP SIM 4.2 on server B

All servers have insight Agent installed... and have SNMP configured to point to server B

But on the HP SIM console, for the server A, I have nothing in the Product Name fields and OS Name ...

If I click on the server A hyperlink , I haven't Hardware status from SNMP...

On the server A, if I send a test snmp trap, I can see it on OSEM and HP SIM.

Any idea ?

Maybe your SNMP setting are not configured correctly on Server A.

I'll give you an example: (assuming a windows server)

click: Start, run, services.msc and open the snmp service.

Goto the 'TRAPS' tab:
Community name: isee
Trap destination: Server B

Goto the 'Security' tab:
Accepted community name: isee
Accept snmp packets from: Server B

Be aware that the community string is case sensitive!!

-Did you configure a 'Managed system' for Server A within OSEM???

Hello,
is there any firwall between the servers with IA installed and the SIM Server? If so, it might be that some data cannot be collected because the snmp gert does not work properly.
Regards
Frauke

SNMP traps are correctly configured

The problem only appeared on the server A (which is the only one that has OSEM and ISEE installed)

I think, I have made a mistake on the OSEM configuration ... but where ?
It could that the version of the IM agent is too old. (or too new, although that is very rare)

Can you give some more info on the versions used? (OSEM,ISEE,IM agents)
