topic Event notification practices in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Im in the process of setting up the event procedures for SIM, I was wondering what sort of setups others had.

Currently, we send an e-mail to our network admins when we have a CRITICAL event. For the most part, we left the SNMP traps that were critical alone that came with SIM.

Each night we see things such as System is Unreachable, either when something reboots (10 retries at 10 seconds per ping means it has to be off the grid for more than 100 seconds, yes?), or our WAN connection fluctuates during the night (leased T1s for the win).

Your thoughts on this discussion would be greatly appreciated.
