Thanks for the replies.
I have set the sample rate to 3.
All the services are running on each server. I have stopped and started them to make sure there were no issues.

When I try to run a report, I go to reports, pmp and select static or summary.

I also go to optimize,pmp, online or offline analysis.

I receive no info at any point.

Dan

I have installed pmp 3.1. I set the configuration to gather 25 samples. I am monitoring 6 servers. I have received some logical disk events on one server.

When I try to run a report, it states that not enough smaples have been gathered. I am not sure what this means. It sends me to the config page, it says 25 smaples and monitoring is started. Licenses are ok. It has been running for about a week. How long does it take to get enough info? Am I missing something?
Thanks

25 Samples is high, this means it will take 25 iterations of a constant change before a status change would be flagged.
e.g. The a process starts using all the cpu, it will take 25 x the sample rate, usually 120 secs before PMP will flag a major state.
You might want to try reducing this down to the default of 5 and see if this alters things.

When you run the report, how are you doing it, there's a number of ays of getting at the PMP data.

Firstly, Rob is correct in saying that when you set 25 samples in configuration page for a server, it means PMP will need 25 'good' samples for that server before it can flag the real status of the server.

Secondly, If I understand you right, when you click on PF column in HP SIM, you are directed to a page that says insufficient number of samples are collected and ask you to wait.

Even after long wait, if you are not able to see the status, I think the reason could be that PMP is not able to collect all of the information it needs from HP management agents.

Could you please verify that all the HP management agents are running. Namely,

* HP insight Foundation Agent
* HP insight NIC Agent
* HP insight Server Agents
* HP insight Storage Agents
* HP insight Web Agent

If any of these agents is not running, please re-start the service and verify the behavior of PMP.

Please report your findings so that I can help you with this issue.

I've had issues with PMP in the past displaying all items are started but nothing seems to work like you describe.

Try:
Restarting the Performance Management Pack Service on the CMS Server.
Then from the PMP config screen, select all Servers and unselect all options; monitoring alerts, logs. And Apply.
Then Reselect all Servers and enable the monitoring options you want and hit apply.
Wait for about 5 minutes and you should be able to click the PF Icon for a PMP Licensed Server. This should then bring up the online PMP screen for the Server.
I've found that PMP monitoring doesn't always seem to restart all monitoring after reboots of the CMS.
