I recently installed SIM on a server, and have successfully configured the email features. I entered our SMTP server name and an email address. I did not configure any additional options on the server or the SIM software. Does your SMTP server permit use by all or does the SIM server have to be granted access to the SMTP server?

I've got HP SIM setup and i'm trying to configure e-mail alerts. I've entered our mail server name and an e-mail address. I presume that it's the same as CIM 5.5 and you have to have an e-mail address configured on the machine that is running HP SIM which I have done and the alerts will come from that account. I've then set up a few different alerts in the Automatic Event Handling but I'm not receiving any alerts so I must be going wrong somewhere. Any pointers would be helpful

thank you
