HP Systems Insight Manager

If I am rolling out SIM on my servers and I want to get the most data from each server, what software packages/agents should I install on each server if I do not want to use the PSP.

I know I need the Insight Agents pack and Version Control Agent (I think). What other packages should I install as agents?

You need the following to be installed on the managed node.

1. HP System Management Homepage - For web Interface.
2. HP Insight Management Agents - To collect data
3. HP Version control agent - For Version control of Software installed. (You need version control repository manager installed on atleast one server for effective use of VCA)
4. Advanced System Management Controller driver - Needed for Management Agents

Optional
5. HP Insight Diagnostics - For diagnostic purposes
6. HP Array Configuration Utility & Appropriate Array Controller driver
- If you have array controllers on the managed node.

7. If you have Integrated Lights out , then appropriate driver for that.

8. Appropriate Network card driver for your system.

9 Storage driver, if your managed node is attached to a storage system.

"To get most data from each server, Installing entire PSP is required.". PSP will only install drivers that are necessary for your system.
