All needed updates done with VCR?

Newby question
Are all needed updates done with VCR? I know MS updates, enclosure and power aren't but is there anything I should be updating on my own? I have BL30p's with QLogic FC booting to an MSA1000. The enclosure is enhanced and the power is single-phase. Also if there is anything else not in the VCA where would I find the current version at?

Select the OS that you use. The resulting page will have all the necessary drivers and software required for BL30p.
