Unable to Install MSDE

Hi

I'm trying to install SIM on a XP SP1 machine that previously had IM7 on it. IM7 was removed, as was MSDE. Now when we try to reinstall MSDE we get an error stating

- MSDE Install failed with error code 1603

Obviously without MSDE HP SIM wont work!

Hi,
removing MSDE leaves a database directory at
c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server. If you plan to reinstall MSDE you need to rename or remove this folder
