    <description>all snmp settings are the same on the HP SIM server and the servers in my list BUT they still seem to say unmanaged and unknown..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i promise they have all the same settings... so what is the next thing to check?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks..</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Running HP SIM 4.2 Build Version:C.04.02.00.00.&lt;BR /&gt;I have all servers displayed in the table BUT the Question i want to ask is how do i get the 'system type' column to display 'server' next to the name of the server?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..! thanks.</description>

      <description>Grant, i think you need to run the Device Identification (Under Logs&amp;gt;All scheduled Tasks). That should ID you Devices.</description>

      <description>i have the system names (names of the servers) BUT they dont show system type as server they show as unknown or unmanaged...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;any suggestions...?</description>

      <description>Did you run the Configure or Repair Agents ? That should establish the Trust Relationship to the CMS and then forward the info to the CMS about the System Type.</description>

      <description>UnManaged means that HPSIM has not been able to use any Management protocol to get data from that Server.&lt;BR /&gt;Unknown means it has identified a protocol but cannot get the information it needs or cannot match the device.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Typically you need SNMP configured correctly to get any server identfied. You need the Community name entered into HPSIM and the same Community Name on the remote Server. Searching these forums will get more detail.</description>
