Additional info:

Here is a snippet from the patch-acquire.log from the download workstation:

Error: HTTP while downloading https://www.hp.com/pub/essentials/vpm/versions.xml error : connect failed certificate signature failure
Error: Network error for https://www.hp.com/pub/essentials/vpm/versions.xml attempt 1 limit 2
Error: HTTP while downloading https://www.hp.com/pub/essentials/vpm/versions.xml error : connect failed certificate signature failure
Error: Network error for https://www.hp.com/pub/essentials/vpm/versions.xml attempt 2 limit 2
Info: Error downloading harris version file https://www.hp.com/pub/essentials/vpm/versions.xml, status code 410

I even took the acquisition utility software to my home, and installed it there. I got the same error message result about the versions.xml file.

I managed to resolve the 'invalid network path' message by directly editing the E:\HPSim\Systems Insight Manager\webadmin\webapps\ROOT\mxportal\VPM\config\settings.xml file to change the 'parameter name = acquire_path' value.

VPM Patch Repository empty

I apologize if this posting is to the wrong forum, but I'm running HP Systems Insight Manager, not Open View.

I have installed Vulnerability and Patch Management (VPM) on my CMS server in our test centre (which has no internet access).
I installed the acquisition utility on a workstation with internet access. I performed an initial acquisition last Friday (May 6 - had to leave it running through the weekend), and again Monday am to ensure I had all updates. I copied the entire C:\VPM\data structure and contents from the workstation to a USB drive, and then copied the data directory contents to E:\HPSim\VPM\radia\IntegrationServer\data.
I verified the correct settings in HPSim, and performed the Options-> VPM-> Acquire Updates.

When I go to Diagnose-> VPM-> View Patch Repository, it reports there are no patches in the repository.

I have enclosed the patch-acquire.log file from the server.

The one entry that jumps out at me is:
Error: couldn't open "E:/HPSim/VPM/radia/IntegrationServer/data/patch/hp_vpm/versions.xml": no such file or directory.
I checked on the workstation, and the file is not there either.

Any suggestions?

I'm afraid if the way you have acquired the patches is supported by VPM. The software may update/create other files apart from downloading the patches which you might have missed out.

The acquisition utility is supplied as part of the VPM, and I followed the instructions provided at the completion of the installation.

Maybe I should not have put the files directly into the E:/HPSim/VPM/radia/IntegrationServer/data directory, but when I tried to put them on a different location on the server, and change the VPM settings, I get an "Invalid network path" message (even though the location is a local drive).
