Run the hpSIM setup program, but do not install hpSIM...
While it is open, browse to the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.Domain\Local Settings\Temp\1\WZSE0.TMP\openssh

Replace "Administrator.Domain" with the username you're logged in with.
Also "WZSE0.TMP" may be another random name, but under that folder will be the extracted file for the OpenSSH setup program.

Likewise, you'll find the other extracted files in that TMP folder.

Hope this helps! :)

I am trying to install the OpenSSH executable from the downloaded version of HP Insight Manager onto systems I am trying to manage. I am unclear as to how to get to the folder that contains the OpenSSH executable as the download only operates as an executable file. Is there another download elsewhere or a means of extracting the OpenSSH file?

You can get the OpenSSH package from lexa.mckenna.edu the version that HP recommend is setupssh361-20030717.exe.

I also noticed that HP have a patch executable patchOpenSSH.exe on the SIM CD of which I do not posses. I can not find this patch executable on the HP site. Anyone else know where this can be obtained.

Cheers
Leon

I meant to say, also, that when the menu comes up, go ahead and press option "4" so that the hpsim.exe will extract the files necessary for installation...but that is as far as you need to go. At that point, you can find the OpenSSH install file in the temp folder. Sorry for that omission earlier.

J

The file 'T2415BA_4.00.00_Win_20031215.exe' is a self-extracting zip archive. You can open it with WinZip or whatever and extract it to any directory you choose.

Thanks to all who responded....I was having difficulty extracting the ZIP file so beleived the issue to be related to the fact it was an executable. I extracted it on a different machine it extracted just fine.

Cheers,

Troy
