You must remove the previous package before installing a new one.

See the readme file as to how to uninstall the previous package.

Hi!
ESX 2.5 with patch 2.

When running the install script the process stops when it is trying to install the RPM
"expat-1.95.1-7.vmware.i386.rpm" when I check the log it says a newer version of abovementioned package is allready installed.

Any ideas folks?

Well I have uninstalled the previous agent (712) but it still complaints about the expat package. I guess I could somehow remove the expat package in some other way or force the the "new" expat rpm but I'm concerned that some other important systems is using it, is there?

/joakim

The latest Patch I have installed on VMWare brings me up to version 2.5.0 - Build 13053.

I've also got the expat rpm installed and that is version 1.95.1-7.

What Build do you have?

Have you installed any additional software on the VMWare Server?

I've checked our tar archive for Patch 2, and it does not contain the expat package.

What version of the expat package is installed?

Had leostream host agent installed but that is the only third part app that is installed..well the VMM agent of course...anyway removed leostream but the expat package were still there version 1.95.5.1.

However removed the conflicting expat RPM and installed the 720 agent with no hassle so it looks good so far, but one might still wonder how it got there in the first place.

Thanks Rob
-Joakim
