Hi Matt,

not the complete solution, but:
The CMS (Central Management Server)is licensed for free and you should see that on the lincense status screen.
The 5 free licenses are for additional servers available. All ProLiant Servers prior the "ML.. DL.. DL.." Series are also licensed for free - also showing up o the license status screen, sometimes with the information, that you need at least ProLiant Support Pack Ver. 6.xx for PMP working well.
So: Sorry, I can't see more from the distance, but licensing is not your problem.
Check the Serial-Number issue (Have You changed the Systemboard in the past?), Trusts, etc..

Regards
Wolfram

I'm having some problems with licensing servers for the Performance Management Pack. When I go to the Performance Management Pack -License Administration page, the server name of my Central Mangement Server is displayed, however under the License Status heading, it says "Server does not have a serial number". That being said, the License Selected Server button is greyed out. On the Performance Management Pack - License Administration Page, it states I have five available licenses, so I know that they're available for use.

Could somebody please help me out with this?

Thanks.

Thanks Wolfram,

I think we're on to something. If I recall correctly, back when we bought this server a couple years bac, we had a problem with the systemboard and I swapped it out. That being said, the CPU serial number did not get updated in the BIOS. It shows up as blank. I found this out yesterday when I accessed the BIOS and saw no entry for the system serial number. I manually added it in. I then went back to the PMP-License Administration Page and I still saw the "server does not have a serial number" entry under the License Status heading. I'm not too worried about it yet. Perhaps a reinstall will fix things up. I'll update status.

Thanks,

Matt

I ran into the same issue with a DL 380. Boot up with the Smart Start and enter the config menu. There is a place where you can manually enter the serial number of the server. This should take care of your issue.
