Hey all,

I have some systems with Fibre Channel cards installed in them but no Fibre actually connected to the cards. This gives me an error report. In the endless effort to make as many yellow, orange, and red icons turn green I would like to clear this error. Any ideas on how I can get IM to ignore those errors? Or get the server to stop sending the trap?
Can you disable the device or device driver for the card? I did this for an embedded network card after I installed 1 GB network card.

Richard

Eric,

You can disable the "Fiber Array Information" agent until you get a chance to plug in the SAN fiber. To do this:

1) Control Panel
2) "HP Management Agents" applet
3) From the "Active Agents" section, pick the "Fiber Array Information" item and click the "Remove ->" button to disable it.
4) Close the applet and allow the agents to restart when prompted.

You can do the same with the iLO - the new 7.3 agents cause a warning status on a server that does not have a cable plugged into the port.

Nelson

Thanks Guys! I have been using a script to disable the iLO cards but I think I would much rather disable the reporting agents than the devices themselves.

Great post Nelson!

Thanks Again
