Have you also checked the ODBC database connection in the control panel so it points to the new location ?

SIM 4.2 password change, HOW?

We have moved our SQL database for SIM 4.2. We are using MSSQL 2000 SP3a. We need to change the password that SIM uses to communicate with the database server.

We cannot find anything in the documentation which explains how to do this. We also cannot find anything on the HP support site.

We have found the file "database.props" in the config directory. It contains settings related to the database connection. All settings found in this file appear to be normal. Changing the password setting in this file does not help. We still get a login failure on the SQL Server.

Who knows about this problem and how to solve it?

If you make some changes to the the database login password then you need to run the following command to get that updated.

mxpassword -r -x MxDBUserPassword
mxpassword -a -x MxDBUserPassword=<NEW password=""></NEW>
