    <description>Anything in particular being reported in the Event logs? If you reinstalled the agents and snmp it maybe a system policy that was set or other operating system issues. Make sure you have all of Microsofts hotfixes installed as there were memory leak problems with SNMP that could kill the snmp service, hang it or shut it down.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also set all of the Hp agents to manual and then try restarting the SNMP service again and see if it starts. If it starts you may want to log a case to support to have that investigated.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;- Jim</description>

      <title>SNMP service keeps stopping</title>

      <description>On a few servers, I find that the SNMP service keeps stopping. If I click start, it ust stops again. I also get Application Errors popping up. Have stopped all HP services and reinstalled SNMP and re configed it. Anyone had this before??</description>

      <description>Hi, its related to Remote desktop. I have to reinstall the SNMP software, then start the HP agents and its fine. But as soon as I attach using Remote Desktop the SNMP service crashes out. It then won't stay running. Also on the affected service, SIM is reporting it as an unknown device even when the service is running.</description>

      <description>James,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have the same problem as well on my HP DL380 .&lt;BR /&gt;It is on window 2003 sp 1 &amp;amp; after i installed the APC UPS 7.0.4 , the snmp failed to get started giving this error " &lt;BR /&gt;Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.1830, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.0, fault address 0x000249d3. "&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I tried to uninstalled the apc software &amp;amp; the snmp but it failed to get started &amp;amp; stopped .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Really frustrated  &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Found the problem, it was Arcserve backup software that was causing the problem. When I stopped the Tape Engine, it started ok. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I applied patch 11.1 and all is ok.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also got this on Arcserve 9 but not yet patched that.</description>

      <description>James, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have stopped the Arcserve Tape engine , &amp;amp; start my snmp but it stopped shortly thereafter &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do I need to reboot the system to try . Anyway, I will patched it to R 11.1</description>

      <description>Try uninstalling and then re adding SNMP without the Tape engine running. It should be ok. 11.1 fixed it for me and on a few other servers.</description>

      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have the same problem with the snmp service at the DL380 server. I only have the Brightstor 10.5 (open File and Backup) Agent installed at the server. But it worked. The we installed Oracle 9i and after that the snmp service starts and stopps 2 seconds later. Reinstalling the service did not solve the problem. Could anyone help? &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Michael</description>
