topic HP SIM 4.2 and linux in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Hi,

I have installed SIM 4.2. I did automatic discovery and I found that I can see all Windows machines, but my RHEL 4 machine were not discovered.

I tried to access that machine through Insight manager page (port 2381) and it works fine and I can see everything.

When I add that machine manually, it is in green status, but I can't get OS Name neither Product Name.

Is there any idea how to resolve that problem?

Regards,
Lovro

Make sure that your /etc/hosts and /etc/resolv.conf has the correct entries.Basically the CMS host informantion, your dns search entry etc. Also make sure the SNMP service is configured correctly. This can be done using the file snmpd.conf file.

Regards,
AMicSys
