It also sometimes happened to me.
Solution: delete server from list and and discover it again. after this the server will appear in the pmp list after some minutes.

It also can happen if the server is already licensed. Than PMP says "unreachable licensed device".

it offen happens after a hotfix, servicpack or upgrade (like today from 4.2sp2 ->SIM5.0)

I hope its a solution for you to.

I have:
Version: Systems Insight Manager 4.2 with SP2 - Windows; Build version: C.04.02.00.02
Monitoring of all systems works fine except PMP option. My PF culumn shows "?". I have 5 free licenses which go with installation. When I go to the PMP licencing page ant click "update servers list"- no one is displayed.
I have DL580G2, old Proliant3000, ML530G2.

I've found PMP can be very picky about SNMP. Check the Read Onlycommunity name is the same. Also, if you have multiple Read Only community names in HPSIM I've found the first needs to match one on the Remote Server, almosty like it gives up too easily.

I have tried a lot of times to delete and discover servers again and again. PMP still does not list any device. I still have 5 free licences.
SNMP works fine, because all monitoring with IM works... traps, status and etc. On devices SNMP proto set to READ_CREATE.

While discovering the servers are you enabling WBEM protocol too? If yes, please delete the servers from HPSIM, enable only SNMP protocol and then rediscover the servers. You should be able to see the servers then.

Note: The servers that you are trying to monitor should have the Insight Management Agents installed and running with proper SNMP configurations.
