I get the same message when I'm trying to install it on a server running Windows 2000 SP4. I tried it on a server running Windows 2003, and it installed okay.

I would like to get this going on the Windows 2000 server, so if anyone has any ideas, I would also like to hear them.

I'm trying to install the new VCRM but the installation just kepps failing and the log file does not give any information that I really understand. Here's what it says, does anyone get more out of this than me ?

The installation procedure did not complete successfully. An error occurred during the setup process.

Additional Information:
An error occurred while processing the INF file, C:\DOCUME~1\f_hpsim\LOCALS~1\Temp\{B5AE0D53-71F3-4956-B35D-B3C4FAA4D976}\cpqsrhmo.inf.

After closing the setup dialogbox all tempfiles were automatically deleted by setup so I didn't get access to see what the file contained.
I was able to "trap" the cpqsrhmo.inf file by not clicking the close button at the end of the install, the going into the "Temp" directory and copying it to another place. I have attached it, if that will help anyone troubleshoot this problem.

I've had the same problem. I worked with HP on it, and the only solution we could find was to uninstall the current VCRM, reboot and install the new one. Then you have to go back and setup your agents to point to the VCRM again.

VCRM does depend on SMH. If SMH is not working/installed correctly, there is every possibility that VCRM may not work/install properly.

HP ProLiant DL380 G4, 2CPU, 4 GB RAM, Windows 2003 (no servicepack, but all security patches), HP SSD 7.30 with all newer drivers installed EXCEPT the NIC drivers that cannot be upgraded due to a flaw in the drivers (not related to this afaik, but reported separately to HP)

VCRM current version 2.1.1.730
Only known issue: The VCRM cannot be accessed from within SIM, since SIM says it's not trusted, and throws up config box, but config is pointing to SIM server, and all functions work properly when logged in via SMH instead of SIM.

Have you ever deleted and re-discovered the machine in HPSIM that holds VCRM? *If I'm right* there is a known issue that there'll be some problem if you delete and re-discover the server that holds the VCRM.

No, not yet. I'll try that but correct me if I'm wrong but from what I see that would mainly affect the trust status between SIM and VCRM. As the VCRM operates very well on its own, version handling and everything comes in nicely (to SIM) from the majority of the managed servers (and the faulting ones are mainly where we have not yet had time to upgrade the agents), and updates can be deployed, so I'm at the moment mainly focused on getting the upgrade of VCRM done before checking its possible side issues regarding the trust.
