Being that you'd lose the majority of your settings, what would you hope to achieve?

I'm still viewing HPSIM as a test environment until 4.1 comes out with the ability to import from IM 7. Until then I'm prepared to trash everything and start again.

But to answer your question, I know you can do the reverse but never heard of recreating the database.

don't really care about content since this is a demo environment. just care that the database works properly. only have a few systems being managed by the CMS

no my SIM server that is having the problem is a w2k3 server. agents work fine on all my w2k3 servers. This database just doesn't want to work right for some reason. My other 5 are fine

Are you looking at a complete reinstall of SQL Server or just to create a new blank IM Database?

If it's a reinstall of SQL, you could shutdown SIM, detach and save the database files, reinstall SQL and then copy the IM Database files back to the recreated structure and use SQL to attach them and finally restart IM.

There must be a part of the IM that creates the blank database but I don't know how to just invoke that.

yes, looking to create a new blank IM database. SQL 2000 is fine just the IM database is corrupt. Seemed like it would be easier to install just a new IM db than reinstall all
