topic Service Account Rights in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Is there any documentation of the rights the account that SIM 5.0 service runs under requires, and why it needs them? The only thing I can find is "This account should have administrative privileges".

Unfortunetly that isn't enough for our security group.

There is no document on that. But the thing is that the installer checks if the user trying to install is part of "Administrators" group. So there is no way that we can assign only specific policies and get HPSIM installed.

Thanks for the reply.

The install isn't a problem. I'm an admin so it installs without a problem.

The problem is I can't use my account to run the service (due to a domain security policy). I do a custom install, so I can specify another account for the service to run under. But I need to provide information to our security folks on why this account also needs to be a local admin on the CMS.
